What does Essential Driving Training entail?
EDT is a program of 12 one-hour lessons. These lessons are made to cover certain essential driving abilities and improve your practical driving skills.
As you complete each lesson, your Newcastle Instructor will log how you're progressing in a logbook that is specially issued.
You also need to have a Sponsor, a seasoned driver (many learner drivers pick a relative) who will supervise your driving practice inbetween driving lessons in Newcastle, and may also track your improvement in your EDT logbook.
Once you finish your EDT course, you may still want additional support lessons in Newcastle with an Driving instructor to strengthen your driving abilities. Additionally, it is best to practice with your Sponsor as much as possible to get comfortable in the driver's seat.
On the appointed test date, you should bring your completed logbook on the day of your driving test, since you may be asked to show the examiner it.
